Work has changed. There is hardly anyone working today who is not having to work with dispersed teams. In working with dispersed teams, communication is one of the greatest challenges.  Gone are the days of the added benefits of standing around the water cooler to follow up on some ambiguous details from the team meeting an hour earlier.

Information technology platforms provide a very powerful medium for birthing innovative business ideas and quickly taking them viral.  Communication technology has matured significantly in recent years, the computing hardware is no longer a bottleneck, and the software industry has matured to collaborate on standards and code repositories that are widely used on diverse platforms and equipment.  The maturity in these areas is just what entrepreneurs need to 'think fast and create faster'.

Recently, the Economist highlighted the facility Olive partners with to deliver hosting services. Read the article here: http://www.economist.com/node/21542451 We have an exciting partnership with the CrossLink Group called CrossOlive that delivers boutique hosting services to nonprofit organizations. So why did they feature the SWITCH SuperNap in Las Vegas, NV? Well, that is because it is part of an effort by the state to diversify its economy after the crash of 2008. While Olive Technology and CrossLink Group aren't focused on the woes of Nevada's recession, we are very glad that the SuperNap is there. Why? It is one of the safest places in the country to have a data center. When is the last time you heard of a natural disaster in Nevada?

Who would ever go on a trip and only ask one question? It just doesn't happen. If it did people would be totally unprepared for the process and would likely never arrive at their destination. Imagine a person who only asked if they had enough gas to get there. They would not have packed the clothing or supplies they needed. They would not have made reservations at hotels or other stops along the way. They might not even know where they were going.
